Since I was a child, I have been drawn into the natural world. The twisting branches, the calls of birds, the falling feathers, berries and flowers are among my first memories. These were my preferred playthings and my first subjects. I began to draw as a young child, filling our small apartment with images. The natural world sprouting up around me were my first playmates who taught me about life. Today I am focused on how that world is dying, what we are loosing due to an overuse and addiction to fossil fuels and thoughtless abuse of nature. The warning signs and now the realities are present
everywhere. With pencils, paints and paper, I hope to awaken, bring attention to and provoke action. There is no time left to remain on the sidelines. Each of us must take action to save and protect what we can of our natural world. JR-C, 2024
